Basic Training

Basic training intended for students in the humanities or PhD holders in linguistics, philology, and literature who wish to acquire essential skills for the the writing of TLIO entries. The main requirement is familiarity with medieval texts written in different Italo-Romance linguistic varieties and with basic Italian lexicographic tools. The program includes a 5 day (from Monday to Friday) training period at the OVI Institute, the assignment of some TLIO entries, to be written with the help of the OVI online resources, and discussion of relevant issues that may emerge during revision of the entries. The training activity, which may lead to publication of the assigned entries, is not a trial period for employment, and does not provide reimbursement for travel and accommodation exspenses. To attend this course, which takes place in the fall/autumn (see below), please send a letter of interest to the attention of the OVI Director Prof. Paolo Squillacioti by the deadline indicated below and using the following procedure.

In 2019 the basic training session curated by Elisa Guadagnini and Giulio Vaccaro will begin on Monday, September 23 and end on Friday, September 27 at the OVI Institute. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. a letter of interest with CV and accluding a letter of support by a teacher at the unversity where you graduated or where you are studying. For organizational reasons no more than 20 persons can be accepted: in the case of exceeding of availability we will evaluate the interests of study and research of the candidates, giving preference to those who carry out research in the areas of the history of Italian language, philology and literature; the possibility of replicating the course in the following weeks will also be evaluated. An answer to all the proposals received will be communicated by July 31, 2019
