The
recently established
OVI library
manages and preserves the bibliographic collection
of the Institute. It currently owns over 400 volumes, including monographs,
journals and conference proceedings, covering the fields of Italian
lexicography, Italian philology and the history of the Italian language.
The library
participates in the National Library Service through the network "Polo delle scienze" (EVE-SBN Center), in the OPAC Gecar - Polar, in the CNR Discovery service and in the Sistema
Documentario Integrato dell'Area Fiorentina (SDIAF).
The library
is registered in “The Italian Library Registry” with the code IT-FI094.2.

The catalog offers comprehensive access to the bibliographic records of monographs, periodicals and extracts of the OVI Library.
The catalog is online and freely available here.
The Library adopts an open-shelf system, and, therefore, users have direct access.
Bibliography of the vernacular dialects of Italy up to the beginning of the 15th century consisting of the bibliographic data from textual corpora of the Opera del Vocabolario Italiano and additional material from the Tesoro della Lingua Italiana delle Origini.

The "Polo delle Scienze" of the National Library Service (Polo EVE-SBN) was established in October 2016 following an agreement between the central libraries of the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e vulcanologia (INGV) and the National Research Council (CNR), which keeps records.
The Polo allows the consultation of the bibliographic and documentary heritage of libraries that are part of it and develops innovative services for its own scientific network and for the whole nation.
New service of the CNR Central Library to query from a single access point bibliographic resources (paper and electronic), catalogs, repositories, grey literature archives, patents and other resources possessed by the institution, with access to full text and Document Delivery services.
The Collective Catalogue CAT@logo allows users to access with efficient and easy search mode both library materials owned by the participating libraries or at any on-line resources administered centrally. It is possible to also access information resources and to loan services, document delivery, reservation and collection books and periodicals.
"CNR Link" catalogue (all resources from CNR and the library of Bologna Research Area, as well as open access journals indexed in DOAJ)
The POLAR CNR (Portal Of Libraries And Repositories) brings together the library catalogues from Research Areas and Institutes of the National Research Council and provides access to centralized resources such as periodicals, databases and e-books of the major international publishers.
Access to bibliographic resources (electronic journals, databases, e-books) owned by CNR (SIPER username and password required)
Access to publishers with whom CNR have signed for an annual or multi-year subscription. For each publisher, subscription's contents as well as OA policies are reported.
SOLAR is a database of scientific publications, designed to create an archive of Italian products of science and research making use of the legal deposit of publications in digital format.
Through this catalogue you can access the bibliographic records of books, journals and abstracts of the Pallottino Library, the assets of which belongs to the Central Library of the CNR.
At the Library databases are available of the user online or on cd/dvd. Some online databases are also accessible via Biblioproxy, reserved for the staff of the CNR after authentication.
The online catalogue gives access to the full holdings of the Library of the Accademia della Crusca (approx. 122.000 volumes), the publications that are currently in preparation and those being purchased, and the index of 21 Italian journals of Linguistics.

For works up to 1992 it is also possible to consult a paper catalogue ordered alphabetically by author and subject, which also contains published periodicals, a catalogue of the Incunabula and of volumes published in the 16th century, a microfilm catalogue and a topographical catalogue.
